feh
I've been drawing these old old characters I used to draw, Vernon and Ryan, from this dumb and overly complicated story Afterling. If I ever actually re-do their story and make some sort of comic, I decided to call it We Did Everything Right. Yeppppppppp things I'll never do
Heeerre's a drawing I did of them when I was like 17/18
ANYWAY atleast I'm drawing the mens more.

schllluuup.
Ohhh goddddd I can't believe the last time I updated was august, this is terrible.
Though, a rant:
Okay, so, the Best American Comics series? Absolutely awful. I have been casually browsing each release since the 2006 edition, and they are all the fucking same. Now, I would expect a anthology put out to display the best of comics around America, there would be a whole array of variety, new names and styles. Chris Ware, every fucking issue. R. Crumb EVERY FUCKING ISSUE. Seriously? R. Crumb? No, it's not like I haven't heard of him, or everybody ever knows him. The saddest thing is, is that they're publishing excerpts from comics by these artists that didn't even come out in the year the Best American series is representing (the 2010 edition features Novelty Acme Library #19, which came out 2 years ago. Okay, 1 year, whatever, 2 years, fuck you.)
The comic scene is so pathetic, it's one of the main reasons why I've grown so detached from any sort of serious devotion to making comics. I'm either reading about some dude's neurosis about his dick being too small (Adtian Tomine are you seriously seriously writing this obvious auto-biographical bullshit? Stick to illustration. Stop trying to be David Clowes.) or pages and pages of self involves blather about his sad girl friend tales (Jeff Brown can suck my dick, you write 5 books about how you have experienced relationships and they are sad and hard and SO FUCKING BORING.) (... I'm not saying I dislike all auto-biographical tales of being insane and terrible, I love that shit when it's done right. I fucking love David Heatley because he is actually insane and his comic style is sort of disgusting in it's way, and reflects that. It's good.)
Augh. Man. I don't even know where I'm going with this anymore, I'm obviously a completely unfocused writer. I guess my point is that Matt Madden and Jessica Abel suck and need to get their shit together, dude.

some old stuff and an unfinished thing
A couple of older tiny comics, back when I worked as a coat check lady.
Remember that time, that time when Hourly Comic Day was like, five months ago? I'm posting it now!! Also, the first page I didn't like at first so I re-did it, but now I like the original because it has less words...
And thennnn this painting I have to finishhh
